Mason Knotts

Mason Knotts is the weekend meteorologist here at KRCG 13. He was born in Fishers, IN, a city right outside of Indianapolis, and lived there for 20 years. He went to Indiana University in Bloomington, IN, and achieved his Bachelor’s in Earth and Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorology, specializing in Atmospheric Science and Meteorology.

Mason’s passion for weather extends back to when he was a child, writing schoolbooks and doing projects all centered around the weather.

He was actually very afraid of storms before this and had that fear develop into a fascination and passion for weather, which led him to major in it in college.

In college, Mason would take time out of his days to chase storms and developed a deep passion for severe weather forecasting. Mason is excited to continue his weather journey at KRCG.

In his free time, he enjoys all things sports, competitions with friends, exercising/hiking, video games, spending time with family and friends, and exploring new areas with them.

He is a diehard Kansas City Chiefs, Royals, and St. Louis Blues fan, as well as a massive fan of any Indiana Hoosiers sports team whether it be Basketball, Football, Baseball, or Hockey.
