JC's Linthacum, Anderson sign with D-1 programs
JEFFERSON CITY -- Two Jefferson City Lady Lays will play basketball at the Division 1 level next season.
Micah Linthacum signed her letter of intent with Missouri on Wednesday. The 6-foot-3 senior is considered a three-star recruit by ESPN.
"I'm super excited to be a part of everything Mizzou related," Linthacum said. "Being this close to home, it's always been a dream of mine."
JC point guard Caitlin Anderson will play for Indiana State next season. She averaged 11 points, five rebounds and five assists as a junior.
"I've been waiting for this day for so long," Anderson said. "I'm happy I got to go to a school that I really like. They really embraced me."
Linthacum joins five-star recruits Aijha Blackwell and Hayley Frank in MU's class of 2019.
Blackwell averaged 24 points a game for Whitfield High School in St. Louis last season. Her father, the late Ernest Blackwell, was a running back for the Missouri football team from 1994-97.
Frank also averaged 24 points a game last season, leading Strafford to the Class 3 state championship.
