Mizzou to retire Chievous' #3
COLUMBIA -- No. 3 will soon hang from the rafters at Mizzou Arena.
Missouri will retire Derrick Chievous' number during halftime of the Tigers' showdown with Kentucky on Feb. 19.
Chievous played at Missouri from 1984-1987, earning All-American honors in his senior season. He was also a two-time First Team All-Big 8 honoree.
Chievous is Missouri's all-time leading scorer with 2,580 points. He also holds the school record for points scored in a season.
Chievous will be the seventh Tiger to have his number retired, joining Jon Sundvold (No. 20), Norm Stewart (No. 22), Willie Smith (No. 30), Doug Smith (No. 34), Steve Stipanovich (No. 40) and Bill Stauffer (No. 43).
