Member of Mizzou football coaching staff arrested on out of county warrant
Online arrest records Sunday showed a member of the Mizzou football coaching staff was arrested overnight.
Vernon Hargreaves was arrested and taken into custody on an out of county warrant Saturday morning by the University of Missouri Police Department.
According to the MU Athletics website, Hargreaves joined the Mizzou football staff in Dec. 2017 and serves on the staff as the Inside Linebackers coach. Hargreaves has 34 years of college coaching experience, including 26 as a linebackers coach.
Hargreaves had a set bail amount of $1,000. He has since posted bond and was released from the Boone County Jail.
"At approximately 5:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, an officer with the University of Missouri Police Department stopped Vernon Gustave Hargreaves, 56, near the intersection of Stadium and Monk for speeding," MUPD PIO Sara Diedrich wrote in an email. "After stopping Hargreaves, the officer learned there was an active arrest warrant for Hargreaves out of Miller County for failure to appear. The warrant stemmed from an original charge of no insurance and failure to register a vehicle."
