It was an exciting time for Wednesday's morning guests, as two mid-Missouri girls had from the performance of a lifetime.

Taylor Winkelman and Maryssa Ainsworth, both from Jefferson City, returned from the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.

The two girls braved record-breaking cold weather to perform in the 92nd annual parade on Thursday. They performed with the Spirit of America dance stars and were the grand finale performance introducing Santa.

After five days of dance rehearsals and some sightseeing, the girls woke up at 3 a.m. Thanksgiving morning to meet hundreds of other dancers at the start of the three-mile parade route.

Dressed in sparkly white fur-lined robes with shorts and flesh-colored tights, the Jefferson City girls joined 600 Spirit of America high school dancers from across the country in front of the flagship Macy's Department Store in New York City.
