My personal bullying story: overcoming and achieving

I learned to look to myself, friends, and family to get through my bullying experience and achieve my goals. (Caileigh Peterson/KRCG 13)

My bullying story began years ago in a high school hallway.

I was bullied. There in that lonely hallway.

I had to look to myself and my family to help me get through it. I learned that what my bully said about me, is not necessarily the truth.

You have to take a step back and ask yourself who you are, who you want to be. I thought high school would be the end of my story.

However, it soon followed me to the University of Missouri campus when I was a freshman. My bully is still part of my life. It has never been easy to see them, but the important difference is I made new friends. Having good, quality people in your life is so important.

I've achieved so many of my goals and look forward to crossing more off my list.

I would not be here, at KRCG 13 doing just that without the support of my friends, family and myself.

Do not be afraid to ask for help because there is hope.
