Woman in stable condition following Columbia shooting, person of interest identified

Columbia police said a 31-year-old woman was in stable condition after she had received life-threatening injuries in a Thursday morning shooting.

Police also said they had identified a person of interest.

Officers responded to the the 2600 block of Eastwood Drive at 1:15 a.m. after receiving multiple reports of gunshots.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers found the woman had sustained life-threatening gunshot wounds. EMS took her to a local hospital where she was then treated.

The investigation is on-going.
