Wanted suspect still on the loose, public's help requested

    A wanted Columbia man charged with murder in the death of another man in January remains at large and Crimestoppers are offering a reward for information leading to his arrest.

    Garland B. Wisley, has been charged with second degree murder and armed criminal action for the death of John R. Albers in the 200 block of Sarazen Drive in the Fairway Meadows subdivision in January.

    Deputies responded to the home after 7 a.m. after a report of a gunshot and found the victim deceased.

    The investigation determined Wisley and Albers had a verbal argument prior to the shooting.

    With the help of additional information, it has been indicated that Wisley may still be in the mid-Missouri area. Wisley is described as a black male, 6"2" inches tall and weighs about 220 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

    Wisley is being sought by Boone County sheriff’s deputies on a $1 million bond. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to immediately call 911 or CrimeStoppers at (573) 875-TIPS.
