Valentine’s Day strawberry tradition continues
The lines were long for The Candy Factory’s chocolate-covered strawberries.
Sweethearts with a sweet tooth found the perfect Valentine’s Day gift at the Downtown Columbia store.
Store owners celebrated more than 40 years of making chocolate covered strawberries.
Shoppers had a choice between milk and white chocolate to help them score points with their sweeties.
“Chocolate covered strawberries have become a CoMo Valentine’s Day tradition," The Candy Factory Owner Mike Atkinson said. "We have a lot of people who have been coming in year after year since the late seventies. They say that their wives won’t let them in the door if they don’t come home with some candy factory chocolate covered strawberries.”
Workers at a special counter promised to get customers in and out of the store in less than five minutes.
