One dead, one seriously injured after boat explosion at the Lake of the Ozarks

One person was killed and one person remained in the hospital with serious injuries after a boat exploded at the gas pumps located at Pier 31 at the Lake of the Ozarks.

MSHP said Ronald Moore, 76, of Nevada, Missouri, and Susan Abele-Burns, 58, of El Dorado Springs, Missouri, were taken to University Hospital. Moore died late-Sunday evening.

Highway Patrol said they received a report of a vessel explosion around 12:13 p.m. When troopers arrived, the vessel, identified as 1989 Carver Santego Bay, was away from the gas pumps but fully engulfed.

Driver James Holcomb was not injured according to a boat incident report.
