Two arrested in stolen vehicle mayhem

Charges were being sought Friday morning for two suspects in a stolen vehicle chase that ended in a multiple-car crash in Jefferson City.
According to Jefferson City Police, a stolen vehicle was spotted just before 9:00 Friday morning in the 100 block of Dunklin Street. When officers tried to pull the car over, a pursuit began that traveled westbound and continued on to Bolivar Street, where the suspect vehicle collided with an SUV at the intersection of Bolivar and Main.
After the suspect vehicle struck the SUV, it overturned and hit a pickup truck before coming to rest.
Two suspects fled the vehicle and were taken into custody after a short foot chase. The driver of the SUV was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.
Charges being requested against the suspects include Motor Vehicle Theft, Felony Assault, Resisting Arrest, and numerous traffic offenses.
