Suspect charged with murder in fatal Jefferson City shooting, victim identified
JEFFERSON CITY —
Police arrested a 22-year-old man Monday after a victim was found dead from a gunshot wound at the man's home earlier in the day.
Charon Session, 23, died after suffering multiple gunshot wounds near a residence in the 900 block of Tanya Lynn Drive. Alfred Chism, 23, an occupant of the home, was charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action.
Lt. David Williams with the Jefferson City Police Department said the victim and suspect knew each other.
According to court documents, Chism told police that Session had been verbally harassing him for several days and that he had been texting just before he showed up at Chism's residence around 3 a.m. Monday.
Chism said he answered the door with a pistol in his hand, told Session to leave, and then shot him. Session was struck twice.
Chism was booked on a $100,000 bond.
Lincoln University confirmed Session was a junior at the university. In a new release the school said Charon Session "is remembered for his infectious spirit, tremendous talent and his Blue Tiger Pride."
