Special Olympics opens the doors at new training campus

Thursday morning, Special Olympics Missouri athletes, volunteers, and directors cut the ribbon outside the new Training for Life campus.

The 32,000 square-foot, one-of-a-kind facility sits on nearly 17 acres off Christy Drive.

Special Olympics Missouri said the Training for Life campus offers year-round sports training, leadership opportunities and health and wellness for athletes, coaches, volunteers and staff members.

With plans to serve more than 122,000 people, the project is finally completed after a year and a half of construction.

Special Olympics staff will hold an open house for the public on November 1.
