NEW BLOOMFIELD — The snowfall which began around noon Friday caused traffic accidents and backups all over Central Missouri, including one near Eldon involving some 50 vehicles.
According to Sgt. Scott White of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the pile-up in the westbound lanes of U.S. Highway 54 in Miller County was called in at 1:32, and it was expected to take at least three hours to clean up.
At 4:20 p.m., MoDOT stated one of the westbound lanes had been reopened, and traffic was moving slowly through the area.
There was no word on the number of possible injuries involved.
