Miller County Sheriff Louie Gregoire said Monday he could not release many details about a recent shots fired incident in St. Elizabeth because it involved juveniles.

Gregoire confirmed of the four people arrested Friday night in Jefferson City, one was being held as of Saturday. Gregoire could not provide the suspect's age.

Deputies were originally called to an area near downtown St. Elizabeth Friday night. Investigators said they found a single shell casing on Vine Street.

Gregoire said investigators didn't think the shooter was aiming at a house or any other structure, but was likely firing in the air. The scene was about a block away from the St. Elizabeth R-IV School.

Investigators immediately contacted the school's principal and superintendent, according to Gregoire. The sheriff said no school activities were happening at around the time shots were heard.
