Sheriff: 11 dead, 6 still missing after duck boat capsizes on Table Rock Lake

The Stone County Sheriff's Office said six people are still missing Friday morning after a boat capsized on Table Rock Lake.

In a news release, the sheriff's office said there were 29 passengers and two crew members on the boat. As of 2 a.m. Friday 11 fatalities were confirmed, 14 people survived.

Officers received reports that a tour boat sank near Branson Belle around 7 p.m. Thursday. Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to the scene including the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The Western Taney County Fire dive team worked up until about 11:30 p.m. Thursday searching for people, according to the news release. The Highway Patrol dive team is expected to take over Friday morning.

Branson City Hall is open for those who are missing family members. Families and loved ones can also call 417-337-8515 to find out more information about their loved ones who were on the boat.

The Stone County Sheriff's Office is expected to host a news conference at 9 a.m. in the Branson Belle parking lot.
