President Trump endorses Hawley in tweet on Missouri Senate race
NEW BLOOMFIELD —
President Donald Trump turned to Twitter Wednesday to reiterate his endorsement of GOP Senate candidate Josh Hawley.
Trump began his tweet saying Sen. Claire McCaskill flew around in a private jet during her RV tour of Missouri.
"RV's are not for her. People are really upset, so phony!" he said.
He followed the criticism, adding "Josh Hawley should win big, and has my full endorsement."
This isn't the first time Trump has publicly endorsed Hawley. The president last visited Missouri in March where he held a round table discussion at Boeing regarding his newly passed tax plan.
During his visit he managed to squeeze in an appearance at a Hawley fundraiser.
McCaskill released the following statement in response to Trump's tweet: “Paying on my own dime to visit more Missouri veterans is not something I’m going to apologize for.”
