Power outage in Columbia fixed

1,200 customers were left without electricity when a tree fell on power lines near Glenwood and Rollins just before 1:00 Wednesday.

A power outage caused by a tree falling on power lines that disrupted service to about 1,200 electric customers in southwest Columbia shortly before 1:00 Wednesday afternoon was fixed by 2:40, according to Columbia Water and Light.

According to the Columbia Fire Department, a small fire resulted from the incedent at Glenwood and Rollins, but was put out in short order with no injuries reported.
