Police release surveillance photos of Columbia bank robbery suspect

Police have asked the public for help in locating a bank robbery suspect.

Officers began investigating a robbery at Merchants & Farmers Bank in the 4000 block of Range Line Street June 8. Investigators said a man showed a handgun to a teller and received an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing on foot.

They said the suspect was a man last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt with a hood, blue jeans and black shoes. He also had on a blue hat, black sunglasses and blue gloves at the time of the robbery, according to a release. The suspect left in a small silver or white car.
