A woman was killed after she was ejected from her car in a crash on Old Highway 63 Sunday morning.

According to the Columbia Police Department, 21-year-old Columbia resident Perri Jones was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. In a news release, CPD officials said the car failed to navigate a curve, ran off the right side of the road, went down an embankment and began to roll.

19-year-old Columbia resident Destiny Hardin was the only passenger in the car. She was transported to a hospital with minor injuries, and also was not wearing a seat belt, police said.

Officials said they were investigating if Jones was under the influence at the time of the crash.
