COLUMBIA, Mo. (KRCG) - Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers bid a K-9 officer farewell on Monday. K-9 Officer Cuba was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer.

Troopers and law enforcement officers from across the state patted Cuba's head as Cuba's partner, Trooper Zeller, took Cuba on his final walk prior to being put down.

Friends and colleagues showed up to support Cuba as he performed his final act of courage," MSHP Troop D said in a tweet. "Cuba spent his lifetime in service to Missouri, and he will be missed.

The MSHP Headquarters expressed their condolences in a tweet on Monday.

Local agencies similarly took to social media to share their support of Trooper Zeller and K-9 Cuba.
