MU students and staff participate in 'Tornado Safety Day'
A statewide tornado siren drill was held Tuesday on Tornado Safety Day in Missouri as part of Severe Weather Awareness Week.
Tornado warning sirens could be heard going off loudly across the state, including the Mizzou Campus.
Students and staff were encouraged to participate in the drill but it was not mandatory. Many were seen moving downstairs to seek appropriate shelter.
In an event of a tornado, everyone is advised to find the lowest floor in an interior room or hallway, away from doorways and windows.
MU students and staff also received an email and text alert during the tornado drill.
