A semi struck two trucks Tuesday, prompting the Missouri Department of Transportation to caution against distracted driving.

MoDOT stated some of its workers received minor injuries on U.S. Highway 54, adding its Truck Mounted Attenuator driver had honked a warning horn before the crash and prevented more significant injuries.

MoDOT released the statement below:

"For YOUR safety, for OUR safety PLEASE do NOT drive distracted! Do NOT attempt to drive between our TMA trucks in active work zone caravans! And PLEASE drive with caution when you see our trucks and workers out there on the road!"
