Several Mizzou fans Tuesday said although Michael Porter Jr's likely season-ending injury is heartbreaking, they're still excited about this basketball season.

Fans pointed out the players Porter Jr. helped recruit to Mizzou, including his brother Jontay, Jeremiah Tilmon and Blake Harris as reasons to continue watching. Other fans said the team's returning players have noticeably improved.

Fans said they still expect this season to be better than the last few.

"I think Mizzou is still going to have a really good basketball team, I think they're still gelling right now and they have work to do. But I'm still excited about the team and all the talent they have on there," said fan Kevin Kinkade.

Aside from how his injury affects the team, Mizzou fans said they feel bad Porter Jr. has to deal with his injury along with season-ending back surgery. They wished him the best and a speedy recovery.
