Missouri State Highway Patrol responds to over 100 roadway incidents

Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to over 100 roadway incidents Sunday afternoon after blowing snow affected roadway conditions.

As of 6 p.m. Troop F reported that they had responded to 131 crashes and slide-offs.

Troopers also reported that there were 11 recorded injuries and one fatality, making it the first fatality of 2018 for Troop F.

Troop I reported that Interstate 44 eastbound near the 138-mile marker was shut down. MSHP tweeted that it was due to a 12-car crash with injury and one confirmed fatality. Troop I advised drivers to avoid the area.

Troopers emphasize that roads are slick and hazardous

MSHP General Headquarters also informed drivers over Twitter that certain areas of I-44 were closed.

Eastbound near the 186 mile-marker was closed due to a 30-car crash with about 11 injuries. Westbound at the 144-mile marker was also closed due to an injury crash.
