Missouri prison remains on lockdown after riot
ST. LOUIS (AP) —
A prison in northwest Missouri was still on lockdown more than a month after protest turned into a riot. Officials with the union representing corrections officers were worried a severe staffing shortage could lead to more violence.
Inmate activities have been restricted at Crossroads Correctional Center in Cameron since May 12, when dozens of inmates caused significant damage to the prison.
Officials said prisoners were angered by loss of programs and recreation time due to a staffing shortage.
