Trump, Missouri lawmakers offer condolences after boat capsizes on Table Rock Lake

Some of Missouri's top officials shared their condolences after a duck boat capsized on Table Rock Lake.

The incident happened Thursday night with 31 people on board, at least 13 are dead, according to emergency management officials.

Gov. Mike Parson shared his sympathies on Twitter.

"Very sad to hear about this horrible accident," he wrote, "prayers for all those involved and the first responders who are assisting."

Sen. Claire McCaskill shared similar sentiments, also expressing her gratitude for emergency responders on Twitter.

"Tragedy here in Missouri this evening," she tweeted Thursday night.

"Heavy hearts for the families of those who have died and are hurt. And as always sincere thanks to the first responders."

President Donald Trump also took to the social media platform to express his condolences.

"My deepest sympathies to the families and friends of those involved in the terrible boat accident which just took place in Missouri," he said on Twitter.

"Such a tragedy, such a great loss. May God be with you all!"

Search and rescue teams returned Friday morning.

Other lawmakers also weighed in.
