Missouri hunters take almost 95,000 deer on opening weekend

The numbers are in from the first weekend of deer season.

The Missouri Department of Conservation says hunters took 94,977 deer across the state, on November 11th and 12th, 2017. That number is down from 2016, when hunters took 96,131 deer.

Hunters took 54,027 antlered bucks, 9,535 button bucks and 31,415 does.

Fall firearms deer season runs through November 21st. Archery deer season runs November 22nd to January 15th, 2018.
