JEFFERSON CITY — As people in mid-Missouri shoveled the snow from Friday, many were preparing for yet another round of winter weather Saturday evening into Sunday morning.
Christopher Beaver and his family moved to Jefferson City from Oklahoma just a few months ago and he said they were looking forward to the snow, but this winter might have been a little more than he and his family bargained for.
"We've been wishing for snow and we finally got what we wanted.. more than we wanted actually," he said.
This is the sentiment many are feeling after a winter full of snow and ice storms, slick roads and lots of shoveling. For kids and pets alike, it has been great. For many adults, it has been a hassle especially when hardware stores run out of winter weather necessities.
"They get pretty crowded, and if you go in there for something you need it's pretty much sold out," Beaver said.
Sasha Drumm was out walking along the snow dusted streets in Jefferson City with her dog River.
"Oh he loves the snow and he loves pulling me through yards just to play with everyone's snow," said Drumm.
For her, the end of the winter can't come any sooner.
"I am ready for spring to start and summer to come," she said.
Since it is the middle of February, many mid-Missourians know the winter finish line should come soon.
