Mexico police investigating string of reported thefts

The Mexico Department of Public Safety is asking for the public's help identifying people accused of stealing from businesses and vehicles on Tuesday.

Police were called to the 1300 block of W Monroe and found that someone had broken a window to the business and attempted to get inside the building.

The suspect did not get into the business, a Facebook post stated, but while on scene, an officer learned that someone had entered a neighboring business through a broken window and stole approximately $200 in cash.

Later in the day, it was reported that someone had broken into a nearby shed and took a 1980 Kawasaki motorcycle.

Police also responded to the north central part of Mexico regarding people going through vehicles and taking items from cars overnight.

According to the Facebook post, 10 vehicles had been rummaged through. Two of the vehicles had change taken from them and another vehicle had a handgun taken from it. None of the vehicles were damaged, the post stated.
