JEFFERSON CITY — A medical cannabis company in Jefferson City opened its doors to the public on Monday.
Missouri Health & Wellness (MH&W) is a medical cannabis company licensed to operate five dispensaries in the state. In addition to the new location in Jefferson City, MH&W's other four locations include Washington, Belton, Kirksville and Sedalia.
The Jefferson City location is the latest of MH&W's five dispensaries to open. It was also the company's first location that was approved to operate in the state by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.
“This has been some time coming and we are excited to finally bring medical cannabis to our state’s capital city, Cole County and the surrounding areas,” said Randy Stambaugh, MH&W’s statewide manager. “I continue to be amazed by the support we have received from the state, from Jeff City and our other areas we serve, the business community and the residents.”
A news release said the Jefferson City location will offer a variety of flower strains and edibles along with a complete line of products as the supply becomes more available.
With the pandemic still in full force, the new business said it will be implementing precautions to better serve its customers including expanded cleaning, social distancing, mandatory mask-wearing, and an option to pre-order online for pick-up at all its dispensaries.
The Jefferson City dispensary will be open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m and on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
