One person is dead after a fire in Moberly on Saturday.
The Moberly Fire Department said in a press release that they were called to 412 North Hinkley Street at 10:26 am for a fire.
When the firefighters got to the scene, they saw smoke coming from the back of one of the commercial structures.
The fire was contained in one room.
After the fire was extinguished, crews checked other rooms.
That was when they found the body of a man.
In the release, fire officials said they did not know the identity of the man.
Randolph County Coroner Charlie Peel told KRCG's sister station, KTVO, an autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday.
The Moberly Fire Department, the Moberly Police Department, the Missouri State Fire Marshal, and the Randolph County Coroner are investigating the fire and the death.
