At 10:19 p.m. Monday night, the Boone County Fire Protection District was dispatched to a tractor trailer crash.

Gale Blomenkamp with BCFPD said the man was driving southbound on US Highway 63 west of Hallsville before losing control of the vehicle and flipping over the guardrail.

The driver walked out of the truck by himself before help arrived. He was taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Blomenkamp said the truck was carrying sugar beets used to feed cattle.

Editor's Note: The location of the crash has been updated to Boone County.

The southbound lanes were temporarily closed after the crash so tow trucks could pull the vehicle out of the ditch.

The crash is under investigation.
