A man faces criminal charges after he was accused of endangering a child during a standoff with law enforcement.

Anthony Macclugage, 27, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, felony domestic assault, and felony resisting arrest Friday.

The Maries County Sheriff's Office stated its SWAT unit and Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers had responded to a domestic disturbance Thursday about 10:30 p.m. and found Macclugage had barricaded himself with an infant inside a bedroom. A woman and a juvenile were outside the residence and said Macclugage had a handgun with him in the bedroom.

After law enforcement set up a perimeter, supervisors were able to speak with Macclugage and able to convince him to release the infant and give himself up. Maries County Sheriff Chris Heitman said the standoff lasted six hours.

The infant remained in the mother's custody. Macclugage was in custody without bond.
