The annual Living Windows Festival in downtown Columbia kicked off the holiday season Friday night.

From live performances to holiday decorations, different business arranged each window for people to enjoy. Some windows had Christmas carolers, dancers, and art exhibits.

The downtown atmosphere was busy with people enjoying the Magic Tree, visits with Santa, and holiday shopping.

Vickie Davis, the District's Outreach Director said this festival gives the community and chance to come together and enjoy the holiday.

"This is just such an awesome experience from young to old to come out and enjoy a night with family and friends," Davis said.

The festival lasted from 6 to 8 p.m. and had over 50 live windows for people to enjoy.

Parking was free in the downtown garages after 6 p.m.
