Making health a top priority isn't always easy, especially with a busy lifestyle. One Holts Summit woman has been able to change her life around, and after just six months, she has already noticed major results.

Back in January, Cindy Gorman hit a low point in her life.

"I was feeling tired and depressed and tired of taking medications," she said.

That low point drove her to make a drastic life change.

"I decided it was time to do something. I have a granddaughter I couldn't run or chase after so I took a leap of faith," she said.

And with that leap of faith and guidance of her health and wellness coach Laura Sigwerth, Cindy lost 96 pounds.

She said it's so much more than just the visible change on the scale.

"Those non-scale victories are amazing. Being able to fit behind a booth in a restaurant or not having to have an extension on a seat belt," she said with excitement.

Laura said to be successful with weight loss, there must be success in all areas of life.

"Having a coach, you have education, a community, and a structured meal plan to help you get started and to follow. All of those are just as important as the other, having a coach, someone who is there for you, a friend," Laura said. "I lost 50 pounds myself so it's nice to have someone who's been there. Having education on how to work on all your healthy habits like, I never thought about sleep or my hydration or stress, or all those different habits that make you, you."

She said while losing weight can be a very difficult challenge, it's best not to not get overwhelmed.

"My biggest advice is to take it one step at a time. Focus on one habit at a time."

Cindy has taken that advice and while she is just six months in, she said her journey to health has only just begun.
