Lebanon woman dies, 2 seriously injured in Cole County crash
COLE COUNTY —
A 64-year-old woman died from her injuries Thursday evening after she was involved in a car crash.
A 67-year-old woman was driving a 2017 Kia Sportage southbound on U.S. Highway 54 at Old Bass Road just before 5 p.m., when it crossed into westbound traffic and struck a 2013 Nissan Frontier.
A Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report stated the Sportage skidded off the left side of the road. The Frontier also veered off the left side of the road and came to a rest, partially blocking the road.
Carolyn Autery, of Lebanon, a passenger in the Sportage, and the 67-year-old driver were taken to University Hospital via helicopter. Autery was pronounced dead at 7:45 p.m.
The driver of the Frontier, a 36-year-old woman, was seriously injured and taken to Capital Region Hospital.
MSHP Troop F has responded to 39 fatalitites this year, nine being in the month of July.
