JEFFERSON CITY —
Jefferson City police are asking for your help in locating a suspect who allegedly resisted arrest and assaulted an officer.
According to police, officers conducted a traffic stop Thursday night at about 9:40 in the 900 block of Fairgrounds Road. It was determined that the driver, Bryce Efford, 25, was driving on a revoked license.
When officers tried to take him into custody, he resisted, causing injuries to one officer which will require follow-up attention. Another officer deployed a Taser, but to no effect. Efford then fled on foot, leading officers on a chase through backyards on Fairland Road, Village Drive, and into the Covington Gardens subdivision, where the search was called off.
A 9mm handgun was located in Efford's car. He is wanted for Assault on an Officer, Resisting Arrest, and Driving While Revoked.
