JC School Board goes with Scenario B
The Jefferson City School Board now knows which students will go to Jefferson City High School and which will attend the new Capital City High School.
The board voted six to one to select scenario B. This choice would keep 37 Cedar Hill Elementary students with their classments, at least until middle school. Those students would go to Thomas Jefferson Middle School, instead of Lewis and Clark Middle School.
The poverty rate at TJMS would drop from 57.1% to 56.38%. At LCMS, the rate would increase to 64.06%. The diversity rate at both middle schools would be 40.11%.
The changes will take effect in August 2019, when Capital City High School begins classes.
