I-70 traffic delays coming to Rocheport
Missouri Department of Transportation Director Patrick McKenna warned motorists about traffic delays near Rocheport’s I-70 Missouri River Bridge.
MoDOT spokeswoman Lisa Cox said on Wednesday the 58-year-old bridge was scheduled for a fourth rehabilitation project.
Cox said the project could cause three-hour traffic backups on good days and eight-hour backups on bad days.
MoDOT officials said they would rather replace the bridge for $200 million than repair it for $15 million.
Total replacement is possible with the passage of Proposition D.
Missouri voters will vote in November on Proposition D, which would phase in a ten-cent gasoline tax increase over the next four years.
