Groundbreaking celebrates new Columbia middle school
Columbia Public School administrators were one step closer to solving their overcrowding problem on Thursday.
Columbia Public School officials and area dignitaries held a ribbon cutting and groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the construction of a new middle school on Sinclair Road.
The future site of the middle school is just down the street from Mill Creek Elementary School.
Columbia voters passed 2 bond issues to pay for the $35 million project.
School leaders did not have a name for the school that was scheduled to open in August 2020.
