Greitens appoints Elijah Mayfield to serve on Council on Disability

Longtime Capitol mail courier Elijah Mayfield has a role on one of Governor Eric Greitens' councils.

Greitens posted on his Facebook page he was honored to ask Elijah to accept an appointment to serve on the Governor's Council on Disability.

"Elijah does fantastic work for the people of Missouri every day," Greitens stated. "He is a friend, a great member of our team, and an incredible advocate for the Down Syndrome community."

Elijah is a National Down Syndrome Society Ambassador, recipient of the 2016 National Down Syndrome “Self-Advocate of the Year” award, and serves as an intern in the Governor’s Office. Elijah also works for St. Mary’s Hospital, is active on Lincoln University’s campus and with the United Way of Central Missouri
