Girl struck by bus is granddaughter of daycare owners
A 5-year-old girl who was struck by a school bus and seriously injured Monday is the granddaughter of the owners of a daycare on Burkhart Street in Moberly in front of which the accident occurred.
Police say the girl ran into the path of the bus in front of the Little Red Schoolhouse daycare facility operated by her grandparents.
She was taken to a hospital with severe leg injuries and was listed in serious but stable condition.
The daycare is licensed to the state and has a capacity of 10. According to state records, it has not been inspected or investigated recently.
