Five arrested after deputies recover 70 firearms, stolen property, drugs

Callaway County deputies arrested five people Friday morning following a drug search warrant.

According to a news release, deputies executed the warrant around 7:30 a.m. at a home in the 5100 block of County Road 280 near Auxvasse. Deputies obtained the warrant following an extensive criminal investigation conducted in partnership with the Cole County Sheriff’s Office.

The Fulton Police Department – Special Response Unit, federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), Missouri State Highway Patrol and Boone County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the search warrant execution.

Deputies recovered 70 firearms, methamphetamine, 29 marijuana plants, several pounds of marijuana, controlled substance pills, defaced and stolen firearms and defaced ATVs and motorcycles.

Two of the individuals arrested were wanted fugitives from Miller County.

Deputies arrested 52-year-old Auxvasse resident Darrin Smithee, 56-year-old Tuscumbia resident Steven Redwine, 50-year-old Fulton resident Montie Stiers, 31-year-old Columbia resident Natasha Redwine and 49-year-old Fulton resident Jennifer Quick.

Smithee was arrested on suspicion of felony unlawful possession of a firearm, felony possession of a controlled substance, felony manufacturing a controlled substance, felony unlawful use of a weapon, felony tampering, felony stealing, possession of a defaced firearm and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. He was being held at the Callaway County Jail without bond per a judge's order.

Deputies arrested S. Redwine on Miller County warrants for burglary, possession of methamphetamine, stealing a motor vehicle and stealing. He was being held at the Callaway County Jail without bond per a Miller County court order.

Stiers was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance. He was released from jail Saturday.

Deputies arrested N. Redwine on Miller County warrants for possession of drug paraphernalia and traffic offenses. She was being held at the Callaway County Jail pending a $4,000 bond.

Quick was arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Quick was released from jail on bond.

Deputies said the investigation was ongoing and further arrests and charges were possible.
