LAKE OZARK — A structure fire at the Southwood Shores Condominiums in Lake Ozark left many tenants without homes Saturday morning, and sent one tenant to the hospital.
According to a release, at approximately 1:59 a.m. the Lake Ozark Protection District responded the fire. First units on the scene reported flames showing and setting up for attack.
Due to the amount of fire, firefighters had to go to a defensive attack on the building.
Fire crews set up water supply with a hydrant and Fire Boat 21 from Lake Ozark. The fire was contained to one building.
One tenant was rushed to Lake Regional Hospital for treatment for smoke inhalation.
Assistant Chief Matt Birdsley said one building is deemed as an entire loss due to the amount of fire on the upper level.
The cause of the fire has not been determined at this time. The investigation has been turned over to the Missouri State Fire Marshall.
