Authorities confirmed a fatality at a house fire Friday morning in Miller County.

A couple had made it out of their fire safely, but the husband ran back into the house when he realized his dog was still inside.

Fire department officials said the man was never able to make it back. His wife was able to get of the house without any injuries.

Fire officials did not say if the dog made it out of the fire safely.

The incident took place at residence on the 200 block of Brown Road, just off Highway 52.
