Driver killed in collision with trolley in Hermann

State troopers said one person was dead and several were in the hospital after a Saturday afternoon crash.

Troopers said a little after 1:30 p.m., someone pulled out of the Village Plaza shopping center into the path of a trolley coming along Highway 100. They said the driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene and two teens who were in the car sustained moderate injuries. One of the teens was taken to University Hospital and the other was taken to MU Women's & Children's Hospital. Troopers said about 6 or 8 passengers on the trolley also were injured.

The crash is still under investigation.
