The Missouri Department of Transportation said bridge work on the Boone County Route BB bridge over I-70 will begin Thursday night and will affect traffic.

The first traffic impact was scheduled to begin at 10 p.m. on Thursday. Both eastbound I-70 ramps to and from Route BB will be closed for pavement repair work. The eastbound I-70 ramps will reopen and repair work will be suspended by 5 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 10.

MoDOT said the eastbound I-70 ramps will close again at 7 p.m. Friday to continue the pavement repair work. The department said the ramps will be reopened by 5 a.m. Monday, August 13.

MoDOT also said during the week of August 13, drivers should expect nightly one-lane closures in both directions of I-70 for bridge repair each night.

The work on westbound I-70 ramps to and from Route BB was scheduled to begin 10 p.m. Thursday, August 16.

Route BB was scheduled to close starting Monday, August 20 to continue the bridge rehabilitation.

MoDOT said the bridge will reopen when work is completed in October.
