A custodian at Oak Ridge Intermediate School was charged with two counts of sexual misconduct involving a child Tuesday.

A probable cause statement indicated 30-year-old Jesse Devore had exposed himself to a 12-year-old student in the bathroom of the school and began to engage in a sexual act. The student reported it to a teacher, who then told the school principal.

Devore denied the action took place.

The court document stated Devore had also been accused of a similar act at a Walmart bathroom. He admitted to that incident but again denied the allegation at the school.

Investigators stated surveillance video supported the student's story over Devore's account, and Devore was taken into custody.

A court date had not yet been set.

The school district said Devore's employment status with Camdenton Schools ended Thursday; he had been placed on leave Tuesday.

Superintendent Tim Hadfield released the following statement:

"On March 12th, it was reported to building administration at Oak Ridge Intermediate School, a support staff member was engaged in a lewd act in a restroom. Upon verifying the report, administrators immediately removed the employee from the building. Law enforcement was notified of the report and an investigation ensued. The district takes these matters seriously in order to protect our students. We are fully cooperating with the Camdenton City Police Department regarding this matter."
