COOPER COUNTY — The Cooper County Fire Protection District confirmed to KRCG 13 crews battled a 4-alarm fire near Boonville Monday evening.
According to Public Information Officer Becky Reuter, crews were called to Chestnut Road for the house fire.
Reuter said they don't believe the homeowners were home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.
At least 47 firefighters from five departments worked the blaze. Those department's included Cooper County Fire Protection District, Boonville Fire, Blackwater Fire, Pilot Grove Fire and Howard County.
Reuter said the fire would be investigated and couldn't say if they were connected to a string of vehicle fires over the weekend.
